my own Rebel Soul has nothing to do with any antique civil uprising... and doesn't need an emblem to rally anyone else 2 do anything 4 me... check out a track or 2 and U will know why U want to listen 4 what Ankorage has 2 say & play 4 yourself...
once upon a time in America...
these lyrics are meant with all due respect 2 someone truly a self-made man... or was it all 4 a bad dream?
I also wanted something that could showcase a bit of harmonica
/* Steven Tyler has no competition from me - he is THE MAN, THE MYTH & THE LEGEND when it comes to smokin' hot harp & so much more! */
Based on Drew's request for a topic, written and tracked in the Spring of 2017; from its inception I have hoped there will be a future 4 the USA and these words someday R2B remembered, as a cautionary tale.
Originally written in the 1990s and recorded in Tucker GA as part of the session where Vincent & John 1st met. This version was recorded in the TC Metro sometime 2015-16 as part of the Relevant Still initial stem track sessions.
Written and recorded in 2011 (Soul & Seduction)
Nothing has changed in regard to what set up the events from which this outrage was expressed. I do believe it is relevant still, and we would rock YOU 2 roll on this live...
while speaking a bit of Truth to power 2 the hour
One is the first V Maxey/D Obar collaboration finally cobbled together years later
The other is one most recent collaboration (still a work in progress 2B finished)
Sweet Home Wrecker, keep your eyes on the prize
Fantasy is a memory 4 ever and back 2 now
Love Is Blue might have something 4 U 2
Images in this song are factual references to the devastation resulting from widespread flooding that took place across Georgia during a 40 day stretch of daily rain mid 90s...
For 10 years in a row, every Spring a different life long resident of the state would offer the observation in casual conversation, "This past Winter was not a normal one."
perhaps my time in residence never repeated itself....
The basic story was inspired by a plot from the "All My Children" soap opera I used to watch once in a while at Colorado State.
However, it wouldn't be what it is if I'd never lived in the South long enough to have assimilated just a bit...
This is the first collaboration between Vincent and Drew. I wrote the arrangement other than the solo section and passed it to Drew, who soon did declare he heard it as ska...
Colorado is where I was at when I began my sonic odyssey, such as it is. From time to time I do return to behold the majestic mountains of rock which gave me initial bearings 2 the path I have taken and 4 those left behind...
This will be the first track to my efforts following Relevant Still. The project will be about a young couple who meet in MN and subsequently make their way South. Currently this song only exists as a piano/vox demo. The Paisley Everglades needs to succeed B4 I would focus 2 the future
Not yet, but at some point... I do have memories of being a kid living in an ideal neighborhood to be a kid, outside Cleveland, in Chagrin Falls.
My ears were first awakened to rock and roll hearing a high school cover band playing two songs during a Kenston Middle School dance in 1976. At the time I didn't know the original Artists, but the music stuck in my head and I recognized it immediately when I heard it again. "Dream On" by Aerosmith and "Rock n Roll All Nite" by Kiss.
I have posted a cover of Message of Love that was recorded during the 2011 sessions. Chrissie Hynde ROX!
Here I am...
ready 2 claim what is my due & own my swamp home 4 ever
3 Tracks were started on the same mid-March date 2013
New Hope, MN

Clothes Horse Blues
What If Christmas
Pete Cappello played piano and electric piano
Brandon LaLiberte played drums
Paul Cherba played bass
Josh Levi engineered this session
Drew Obar played lead guitar for the extended solo, D.Morgan provided additional guitar parts, John McLane played keys on the chorus and at the end of the track
the whole being greater than the sum of the parts is what makes this piece quite superficially deep 2 me
This is one of several songs where I have played the piano to record initial bass and drums. I played Winterland's baby grand to track Brandon and Paul; immediately after which Pete recorded electric piano to what they did make of the groove
John McLane has provided all Ankorage sax tracks and his efforts here did inspire Drew Obar's electric outro guitar
MPLS Summer Sunday Open Streets and Pedestrian Malls
Lyndale Ave South of Lake St is where I first heard the players who did provide the horns which pulled this track together
D.Morgan added rhythm guitar which put some bounce to the beat, John McLane tracked the solo guitar and keys and the recording was finally complete December 2019
In the beginning... I sat down at a piano intending to study Please Come Home 4 Xmas, but my own take on a holiday song happened effortlessly instead and in well under a couple of hours - If I were to consider myself to be a channel, this song would be supporting evidence to that claim
My Mother would enjoy listening to these recordings
Dreamer's Ball (piano/vocal Queen cover song)
The Ballad of Emily and Eddie (future Ankorage project intro track)
God Bless the Child (originality 2 & 4 Billie Holiday)
Autumn Minnesota (Relevant Still)
Holy Joke (Pardon My French)
What If Christmas (2020 Candy)
It would please me to know folks fairly older than I am do enjoy a few pieces more and some do rock on as well...
Point of fact: Other than the Winterland Studio Trilogy, all Ankorage recordings produced in the TC metro having piano is by Andre Rodriguez; and B3 too, such as on Masters of the Universe.
All of these recordings are Vincent (vocal) and Andre (Baldwin baby grand) other than What If Christmas, and Autumn Minnesota however piano/vocal versions of these songs do exist
The men don't always know, but the women do instantly understand...
Bad Company...
A few weeks to learn a dozen songs as part of a mutual audition...
Nothing about Ankorage is anything but grass roots... This is 4 real, and if you would like to experience it anything you can do will help to make it happen... let a friend know about The Paisley Everglades
